Meanwhile, in several exhibition spaces in Zagreb Situation is taking place – an equitable program named after one of the traditional concepts of the Salon, which has been organized continuously since its re-launch in 2020. Unlike the thematically determined Salon, the exhibition program of Situation does not have a defined theme and aims to complement the overview of the contemporary art scene by young artists. In today's challenging times of living in a society burdened with visual content, the works of selected artists point to the reality that surrounds us, but from various artistic expressions and concerns – from introspective views to responses to external stimuli. Reflecting on ecological issues, one's position in the community, and responsible action towards its members, as well as the media and materials used or the time appropriate to artistic expression, are just some of the starting points that show that young artists recognize their active role in society. Their works enable a broader interpretation, and identification, but also initiate discussions about the perspective and future of young people, thus attributing additional value to the Situation exhibition program, which calls for active participation of the audience.
